Mission Statement
ElderHelp provides personalized services that help seniors live independently and with dignity in their own homes. For 50 years, ElderHelp has improved the lives of hundreds of thousands of San Diego seniors and their families. Through donation based services, we provide transportation to medical appointments and grocery stores, home safety/maintenance, Housing Services, and connect community volunteers to older adults needing companionship, advocacy and support. Our unique approach to serving seniors is unparalleled in the community.
About This Cause
Together, we help seniors age in place with dignity: Our Care Coordination program serves over 1,000 clients monthly, providing help with pantry deliveries/grocery shopping, daily check-in calls, friendly visiting, minor home repairs, and more. Seniors A Go Go provides each client with up to 8 roundtrip rides per month--often medically related, with escorted Door-THROUGH-Door transportation. Making sure our seniors are safe and sound from start to finish results in reduced falls in the home and fewer hospital visits. Together, we help seniors stay connected to their community. Our unique HomeShare program offers an affordable housing option in both San Diego and North County San Diego. Housemates provide in-home services for seniors in exchange for room and board or pay rent to subsidize seniors’ incomes. •Volunteers are fully screened and trained to meet the unique needs of older adults.
