SPECTRUM MINISTRIES INC IS A NON-PROFIT CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATION. OUR MISSION IS TWO-FOLD: Fulfilling the Great Commission: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I commanded you...Matthew 28:19-20 Doing this by following the greatest commandment: Love the lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these...Mark 12:30-31
About This Cause
1. COMMUNITY OUTREACH Spectrum Ministries goes into multiple Barrios (neighborhoods) in Tijuana,Mexico doing Wash Days. This consists of a team of workers bringing a lot of love to a specific area. We pray that through these activities people will catch a glimpse of God’s amazing love! Activities such as: Washing hair and feet of children - Hair cuts, and new clothing - Distributing fruits and vegetables to adults - Playing games with children - Praying and sharing the Gospel! 2. PROVIDING SHELTER Everyone needs a place to call home! For decades, Spectrum Ministries has been blessed with groups, who come down to build homes for needy families. Some come with little to no house building experience, whatsoever. They pick up hammers, carry lumber, play with the neighborhood kids, and raise the walls to get the job done. Others have professional contractor and building experience. They cut boards, do roofing, and “square up” the walls, all while biting their tongue because it isn’t “up to code” by American standards! Working from early in the morning until late in the afternoon, they can build a house in just a day! 3. SPECTRUM KID'S CAMP Each May for over 30 years, Spectrum loads vans, cars and buses with over 150 kids from the orphanages and tough areas of Tijuana, and takes them to Camp Agua Viva (or Living Water). For many it’s the first time in their lives they’ve been able to run around among trees and wildlife. That combined with all the camp games and activities make it the highlight of the year for so many! 4. ORPHANAGE SUPPORT We actively support 3 different orphanages in the Tijuana area. Through our outreach we provide food, medicine, and toys; giving the kids the much-needed attention they desire, while also attending to small maintenance issues they may have. We have Bible story-telling, along with games and activities, and of course - we always bring candy! 5. KID'S CLUB Children from the neighborhoods ages six to twelve come out every week for our Spectrum Kids Club. We offer a safe environment with fun games, energetic worship, and creatively told Bible stories designed to expose kids to God’s Word and truth. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me…” and that is our goal each and every week! 6. TIJUANA DUMP MINISTRY Sifting through trash to survive can leave a person feeling sub-human, almost like the very material they’re searching though. Our visits with the people who live and work at the Tijuana dump seek to build relationships, share Christ and give both help and dignity. We want each person to know that they are valuable to God. He loves them and sent His Son to redeem them! 7. TEEN JAIL MINISTRY Tough kids grow up on the streets. Many times this leads to a life behind bars. Through weekly Bible studies and quarterly “Retreats” with home cooked meals, games and teaching, we seek to bring the light of God’s Word to the dark hearts of these young men and women.
