Mission Statement
As the only licensed residential drug treatment program for homeless veterans in San Diego County, VVSD is a valued leader providing a Comprehensive Continuum of Care (Prevention, Intervention, Treatment & Aftercare) to veterans and their families. VVSD couples emergency and transitional housing with personalized case management throughout our five locations serving more than 2,000 veterans annually. Services include an integrated approach addressing the following needs; housing, food, clothing, substance abuse recovery, mental health counseling, job search and training, medical, dental and legal services. At VVSD the mind, body and spirit is embraced offering healing activities through complimentary expressive alternative therapies; expressive arts, music, gardening etc.

Founded in 1981, and dedicated to the promise to “Leave No One Behind,” Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD) is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to helping America’s veterans reclaim their lives of dignity and fulfillment. In short, VVSD Saves Lives. VVSD is a 501c3 organization.
