We help good Catholics become better Catholics, bring former and lapsed Catholics “home,” and lead non-Catholics into the fullness of the faith.
About This Cause
Catholic Answers began in 1979 after a Fundamentalist church in San Diego, California, decided to leaflet the cars at a local parish during Mass. The fliers attacked the Eucharist and were riddled with misinformation. Upon coming out of Mass and finding one on his car, attorney Karl Keating was annoyed and drove home with a modest goal: to draft a tract that would present basic Catholic beliefs and refute anti-Catholic charges. Keating signed the tract “Catholic Answers,” opened up a post office box in that name, and then placed his rebuttal on the windshields of cars in the Fundamentalist church’s lot. It is staggering to contemplate the development since then of the many methods by which we pass along the truth to the groups we are privileged to serve. Today, Catholic Answers reaches countless souls through: • Catholic Answers Live, the top-rated show in Catholic radio • Catholic.com, the most-visited website devoted to defending the Catholic Faith • Catholic Answers Press, which publishes both print and online content • Catholic Answers Studios, which produces audio and video content including the Catholic Answers School of Apologetics (CASA) • Catholic Answers Magazine, the leading journal of Catholic apologetics • The Catholic Answers Speakers Bureau, which sends leading Catholic speakers to parishes, schools, and conferences throughout the country • The annual Catholic Answers National Conference, held each year in San Diego for nearly 1,000 participants and featuring some of the nation's most popular orthodox Catholic speakers from both inside and outside the apostolate
