Mission Statement
The Rancho Los Amigos Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization established in 1983, to raise funds for programs, services and equipment for Rancho patients and their families. It is the mission of the Foundation to help pediatric and adult patients, whose lives have been forever changed through disabling injuries or illnesses, experience the Restoration of Health, the Rebuilding of Lives, and the Revitalization of Hope.
About This Cause
Life after injury is certainly not easy, but it can be fulfilling. At Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center (through the financial support of the Rancho Los Amigos Foundation), we help our patients focus on the big picture by providing exceptional clinical care whether they are an in-patient or an out-patient; building programs and services that help create independence (driving program, Wellness Gym, vocational training, etc.); providing access to opportunities that increase self-esteem and harness talent (wheelchair sports program, pediatric and adult art classes, photography, etc.); and use the ingenuity of our physicians and staff to remain on the cutting edge of rehabilitative technology (robotics, brain mapping, 3D printing of assistive devices, Google Glass adaptation, etc.). Very seldom does recovery mean that an individual’s life is exactly the same as it was before the spinal cord injury, stroke, or traumatic brain injury, but more often than not it can be just as good, if not better. Rancho Los Amigos walks side-by-side our patients in their life’s journey; our relationship doesn’t end when they are discharged, in fact, that is often just the beginning as many of our patients become volunteers or peer mentors.
