About This Cause

Since our founding in 1929, students have come to AVC to pursue their dreams and transform their lives. AVC draws thousands of students from 20 diverse communities and more than 2,000 square miles. California community colleges train 80% of firefighters and police, 70% of nurses, and a wide margin of university transfers. Our students illuminate the past, shape the present and discover the future. Yet, the dream of completing a college education is out of reach for many. It is estimated almost half of all California community college students have no way to pay for the rising cost of their education. As such, only three out of every 10 students achieve the most basic goal of earning a two-year degree or transferring to a four year university. Our campus faces an ever-increasing demand for the best in high-quality, WASC-accredited, low-cost education. But we will likely receive fewer state dollars each year to meet that demand. Giving to AVC through the Foundation helps bridge that gap, improving education and the quality of life in our community as a whole. There are many ways you can invest in our students’ future at Antelope Valley College: AVC FUND Donations to this fund are most needed by the college, as a general source from which funding can be awarded where and when it is most urgent on campus. The AVC Foundation Campus Grants Program each semester awards grants for unmet faculty and staff classroom needs from this fund. PRESIDENT'S CIRCLE An esteemed society open by invitation to community leaders who seek to invest in the future of education in the Antelope Valley, through annual AVC Fund gifts of $1,000 or more, these honored contributors are provided exclusive access to campus updates and special events. SCHOLARSHIPS Our office annually awards over $180,000 to AVC students. You may elect to designate to one of several existing funds, or to name your own for gifts of a certain level. CAMPUS FUNDS You may elect and are welcome to designate your gift for a specific campus program. For a complete list of campus funds, please feel free to contact us or scan here. PLANNED GIVING Contributions to AVC can be accepted not only in the form of outright or in-kind gifts, but in the form of bequests, memorials or endowments, charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts or charitable gift annuities. Many of these can bring sizable tax benefits to donors, as well as significant acknowledgement in the form of legacy naming opportunities on our campus. Please contact the Foundation for more information on leaving your legacy at AVC. Antelope Valley College: Enriching Lives, Building Futures
