Mission Statement
Brigham Young University-Hawaii prepares young men and young women to live principled lives. Its purpose is to assist students in their quests for eternal life. President David O. McKay said that this school would produce peacemakers and leaders of integrity for whom the world is in need. He called the students “genuine gold.” Their time at BYU-Hawaii is academically, spiritually, and socially strengthening. Here we are refining genuine gold. Donations accelerate achievement. You can help. Please donate and become a part of the vital work that is happening in the lives of BYU-Hawaii students. Student Aid, including I-WORK and Scholarships Trustees/Presidents Fund BYU-Hawaii Online (Distance Learning) If you would like further information, please contact Cindy Anderson at 801-356-5190.
About This Cause
Located in Laie on the island of Oahu, Brigham Young University-Hawaii is a respected undergraduate institution currently with 2,700 students from more than 70 countries. PREPARING LEARNERS, LEADERS, AND BUILDERS This mission of BYU-Hawaii, operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is to integrate both spiritual and secular learning and to prepare students with character and integrity who can provide leadership in their families, communities, their chosen fields, and in building the kingdom of God. BYU-Hawaii has strong business, science, education, and culture programs, and it actively recruits throughout the greater Pacific Rim with an emphasis on attracting qualified students from Asia and Oceania. In the lives of its students and alumni, BYU–Hawaii demonstrates the exponential and eternal benefits of education. Donations from alumni and friends of the university enable it to improve and expand its educational offerings and provide more opportunities to more deserving and able students. FUNDRAISING PRIORITIES Student Aid, including I-WORK and Scholarships Trustees/Presidents Fund BYU-Hawaii Online (Distance Learning) While corporate matches of employee donations are appreciated, they cannot be accepted as tithing or fast offerings, credited to individual missionary accounts or any other local ecclesiastical unit accounts, such as Boy Scout troops or youth programs. Corporate matches of employee donations made to any of these accounts will be credited to the Church Humanitarian Fund. Other corporate matches of employee donations will be credited to the same account designated by the employee. The acceptance of corporate matches to employee donations will be based on each individual corporation’s policies governing their matching gift program. This may preclude the Church from accepting corporate matches of employee donations or require them to be credited to other accounts that comply with corporate policies. Corporations and their employees that have questions about matching contributions may contact LDS Philanthropies at 1-801-356-5190.
