Mission Statement
We are the Chinatown Merchants (Hawaii) organization. We assist in being the liaison (behind the scenes) for the Chinatown, Honolulu, Hawaii merchants and owners with government agencies, social work agencies, other businesses. We are the organizers for the Hawaii Dragon Boat Festival and Night In Chinatown (Chinese New Year) events.
About This Cause
We started as a merchant/business organization in the Chinatown, Honolulu, Hawaii to assist the merchants and landowners in Chinatown, Honolulu to resolve and address their issues and concerns. We also, promote Chinatown, Honolulu and its unique diversity of shops and businesses. Currently, Chinatown, Honolulu has over 400 merchants between Bethel Street and River Street, and Vineyard Boulevard to Nimitz Hwy. We are the organizers for 2 of major community events: Night In Chinatown Festival and Parade (Jan/Feb); and the Hawaii Dragon Boat Festival (June/July). These are 2 of the 4 major holidays/events in the Chinese community and culture; the other 2 being Ching Ming Spring Festival (April/May) and Mid-Autumn Festival (Sept/Oct), also known as Moon Festival. We are comprised of dedicated volunteers of different ages, ethnicities and cultural backgrounds. DB Productions, Inc. stands for Dragon Boat Productions and we are determined by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service to be a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization, in accordance to the Internal Revenue Code and thereby recognized by the State of Hawaii as a non-profit organization.
