About This Cause
For the past 14 years the Hawaii International Hope Foundation has been supporting desperately poor children in Thailand and Cambodia (and to a lesser extent in Laos and Vietnam). We've helped build medical clinics, provided medicine and food, set up schools, built methane generators to help reduce infant mortality and provide by-product organic fertilizer, and in 2011 built a five room school in the poorest district in eastern Cambodia. You can be a great help in our work there and it won't cost you money or time or anything else. Here's how: HIHF, a registered non-profit organization, recently received a letter from Amazon.com inviting HIHF to join their smile.amazon.com program. Here's how it works -- instead of logging into Amazon.com, one logs into smile.amazon.com . Then, type in Hawaii International Hope Foundation in the select charity box and bingo, for everything that is purchased Amazon contributes 5% to HIHF. Same price and array of products that is found on the regular amazon.com site. No extra cost for you. If you would use that site instead of the “normal” one, and ask your friends and family to do the same and to spread the word, via facebook or any other way, it will clearly be a win-win situation and we'll be able to continue with our work in Southeast Asia better than ever.
