Breaking Barriers Foundation aims to empower and uplift African individuals in Washington by providing equitable access to quality STEM and Nursing education. Through outreach, mentorship programs, and scholarships, we aim to foster a supportive environment that promotes innovation, inclusivity, and academic excellence.
About This Cause
Breaking Barriers Foundation is an organization deeply rooted in community outreach efforts aimed at encouraging more African individuals to pursue careers in STEM and Nursing. We recognize the importance of representation and access to opportunities in these fields, especially for marginalized communities, and we have developed comprehensive programs to address these needs. In addition to hosting events, we prioritize mentorship as a vital component of our program. We pair students with mentors who are professionals in STEM or healthcare fields, providing them with guidance, support, and valuable networking opportunities. We recognize that financial barriers often hinder access to higher education for many African individuals. To address this challenge, we offer scholarships to students who participate in our program and demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to pursuing careers in STEM or Nursing. These scholarships not only alleviate financial burdens but also serve as a tangible investment in the future success of our participants.
