About This Cause
We are a small group of citizens and neighbors who decided to donate our time outside of work to helping resettle refugees approved for admission into the US via the Welcome Corps program. We work directly with refugees, helping them navigate starting a new life in the US. This work includes English classes, education on how technology and finance work in the US, cultural adjustments, finding employment, finding housing, getting secure transportation, and all the other odds and ends that make up American life. We have found the experience challenging, rewarding, and encouraging. We continue to learn of the network of small groups of individuals, agencies, and nonprofits that work tirelessly to help the less fortunate. We are grateful to be a small part of the quiet ecosystem of Americans helping Americans.
