About This Cause
Power of People Community Initiatives Inc. envisions vibrant, thriving urban communities that are self-sufficient and resilient, leading the way in sustainability and social equity. What We’re Doing Inaugural Program: Power of People Community Initiatives Inc. (PPCI) is launching a Pre-Apprenticeship Program designed to prepare individuals for careers in the electrical industry, with a particular focus on clean energy projects. This program is geared towards equipping participants with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in an evolving industry that is increasingly emphasizing renewable energy and sustainability. Inaugural Project: PPCI is launching a transformative project on the Southeast Side of Chicago, dedicated to environmental sustainability and community revitalization. This ambitious endeavor involves the development of a solar farm and an urban farm, aimed at turning underutilized industrial land into a vibrant hub of renewable energy and green space.
