Mission Statement
Our mission is to inspire youth through high-adventure water activities, leadership training, safety education, and community service. We aim to foster confidence, responsibility, and a sense of belonging among young people, preparing them to support their communities and respect the environment.
About This Cause
Next Century Sailing supports teens and young adults by teaching boating proficiency and safety. In addition to on water skills, we also teach water and weather hazard awareness, identification, prevention, and treatment of potential first aid issues while boating. We use small and large sailboats, power boats, canoes, kayaks, row boats, and stand-up paddle boards. Beyond safety and operation, we teach critical skills related to maintaining and repairing boats and their trailers such as welding, fiberglass, painting, sewing, and engine maintenance. The youth we support, with our coaching and mentorship, in turn teach other youth and adults these skills.
