Mission Statement
The mission of Miami SCORES is to inspire youth to lead healthy lives, be engaged students, and have the confidence and character to make a difference in the world. We achieve this mission through daily after-school and summer programming that combines soccer, poetry, and service-learning.
About This Cause
America SCORES inspires youth to lead healthy lives, be engaged students, and have the confidence and character to make a difference in the world. America SCORES students—85 percent of whom live below the poverty line—improve academically, increase physical fitness, and have a greater sense of confidence and belonging. Miami SCORES is the 13th chapter of America SCORES, which currently provides over 17,000 Title I public school students across 13 cities in North America with daily, free, after-school soccer and literacy programming. Our Core Elementary Program is designed to meet the physical, social , and academic development needs for grades 3–5. The program runs five days a week— with two days of writing practice, two days of soccer practice, and Friday Game Days.
