Mission Statement
Logos Community Church is organized and operates as a church, and under 26 U.S.C. §508(c)(1)(A) We are currently holding three worship services, both Chinese and English on Sunday mornings in Flushing, New York. Children and Junior High worship services are held simultaneously with the worship services. Besides Sunday worship services, we have small groups that are held regularly on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis to ensure the fellowship and nurturing of our congregants. These small group gatherings on a regular basis are important to maintain support and encouragement to grow the believers in their Christian walk. Special topics, seminars and bible studies are among the activities in the group. We also have small groups that assist non-believers to understand the Christian faith and the programs are designed to focus on the relevancy of faith in the work of the believers’ daily lives.
About This Cause
Logos Community Church is currently holding three worship services, both Chinese and English on Sunday mornings in Flushing, New York. Children and Junior High worship services are held simultaneously with the worship services. Besides Sunday worship services, we have small groups that are held regularly on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis to ensure the fellowship and nurturing of our congregants. These small group gatherings on a regular basis, are important to maintain support and encouragement to grow the believers in their Christian walk. Small group activities are tailored to the needs of group. Special topics, seminars and bible studies are among the activities in the group. We also have small groups that assist non-believers to understand the Christian faith and the programs are designed to focus on the relevancy of faith in the work of the believers’ daily lives. Examples of such attempts are drama, coffee hour, discussion groups, movie discussions are means of relating the theme of the gospel for those seekers. The most important component of our activities is prayer. We believe all our work are in vain if we are relying on human efforts. Prayer reminds us that God is our creator, provider and friend. We meet every Tuesday night for prayer meeting and it is open for congregants to pray for the work of the church and for the people who are weak as well as thanksgiving and remembrance of God’s goodness in our lives. Serving is an important component for the believers to promote and contribute to the work of the church. We have committees that focus on ministries to the children, to the teenagers, to college students, careers, family, men, women, as well as to the elderly. In addition, we also establish committees for the congregants to share the responsibilities and the joy of serving to grow the church in ministries such as caring, visitation, discipleship, stewardship and Sunday school for all ages. Furthermore, as a church that heralds the gospel to the communities and beyond, community concern and mission committee are established to involve all congregants to participate and embrace the gospel of grace respectively. On a local level, the community concern committee is responsible to seek ways to make the church friendly to the community and also to assist in providing practical help that can give comfort to the current needs. We planned to have programs include daytime temporary comfort station (when we have our own building) and sending teams to help family in needs of home renovation, etc. Globally, programs such as Short Term Mission trips provides provide participants to have a glimpse of the needs of the gospel as well as a better understanding on how to outreach strategically to the non-believers.
