St. Francis Of Assisi Catholic Church/St. Francis Dining Hall

Portland, Oregon, 97214 United States

Mission Statement

St. Francis Dining Hall serves a meal in dignity in peace to all who are in need, six days a week year round.

About This Cause

St. Francis Dining Hall opens at 10 am week days and at 11:30 on Sundays. It is closed on Saturday unless severe weather makes shelter a necessity. Lunch is served at 12:30 PM and dinner 5 PM week days. On Sunday a meal is served at 3:30 PM. In addition to meals the hall offers a sheltered space during the day with access to coffee, tea, bathrooms, a phone and a limited number of lockers for regular volunteers. Two days a week Multnomah County health care workers come to the hall and see guests who are in need. A county social worker is also available a few hours a week. Guests are offered showers twice a week; they may receive mail at the hall address and have access to a clothing room and personal care products. The staff works to create community. Guests are part of the volunteer force that keeps things running. The hope of all who come here is to create a peaceful, harmonious and inclusive space where guests are drawn into the community and find the resources they need to make steps toward a better future for themselves.
