Mission Statement
Southbay (SCBC) is a Christian church with a English and a Cantonese congregation in San Jose Berryessa area. We are a Christian community, inviting all to encounter God, growing together to be more like Christ, overflowing his love to the world in our everyday lives.
About This Cause
Southbay is a Christian church. We call ourself baptist because we value the transformation of lives when people encounter God. Worship is our primary activity. Every Sunday morning, the English congregation gather at 10am to worship God and learn more about Him. The Sunday worship service is filled with songs, prayer and teaching from the Bible that is relevant to our everyday lives. After our worship service, we go upstairs and eat some good food while we hang out and connect with one another. We also have Growth Groups (G2) which are a place to grow and connect with others. These smaller-sized groups are designed for more interaction, sharing, and building spiritual friendships through exploring relevant topics from a Christian perspective. Groups meet from 11:30 – 12:30 every Sunday on the second floor of the Worship Center. Topics change each quarter. For our young ones at Southbay, we seek to partner with families as a nurturing and biblical community to lead children to come to know Jesus Christ, learn to love Him and be equipped to serve Him. Our programs for infants through 5th grade provide biblical teachings in a child-relevant, age-appropriate, safe and loving environment. In addition to the religious based programs, we outreach to serve our community. We conduct food drive, toy drive, community services and Yinjin Exercise Program, to name a few. We also offer our church for community meetings and events within our guidelines. Please come to visit us. We are changing lives, about 200 at a time.
