Mission Statement
Baltimore Hebrew Congregation is a Reform Jewish Synagogue affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism. We were founded in 1830. We have a cemetery and a Preschool.
About This Cause
Baltimore Hebrew Congregation was founded in Baltimore in 1830. We are a vibrant congregation and have been at the present location since 1951. We have about 1200 member families and conduct religious services for the Sabbath and holidays. We maintain two large cemeteries in the Baltimore area. We have a religious school for the education of our youth and a Preschool, the EB Hirsh Early Childhood Center, that provides education and care for infants to age four. We are an incorporated not for profit religious institution and our non profit status is maintained via our roof organization, the Union for Reform Judaism. Rabbi Andrew Busch is our head Rabbi, and Dr. Steven Sharfstein is our President. Jo Ann Windman is the Executive Director and Annette Saxon is director of development.
