Mission Statement
Our mission is to remain a beacon of hope and light for our neighbors in North Portland, the City of Portland and the entire world through our word and our works.
About This Cause
We are a diverse loving Christian community that offers a variety of ways to serve our community. We offer a weekly community dinner to people from all walks of life. Folks that come in often ask for and receive clothes, blankets, hand warmers, and personal hygiene kits. The Wednesday evening dinner offer more than just the necessity’s, it gives people a sense of belonging and offers then a human touch. We help support our local food bank by holding fundraiser for food donations and give them fresh produce from our garden. We support a home for transplant recipients called Teisha’s Place. Our kitchen hosts events that support the Local Transitional School for homeless children. Each August we hold a huge community fair where everything offered is free. That includes, dinner, backpacks full of school supplies for kids, often we have new socks, underwear for the kids as well. Gently used clothes for the whole family including small household items. We have rock-painting, hoo-la-hooping, balloons, farm animals, car shows, a DJ for music. We also invite our local fire and police departments with the motorcycles. The kids love to get to sit in the driver’s seat of the motorcycle and the fire engines. We are a small congregation in a large building sharing with a predominately African American congregation. We love each other and we love the surprise from people when they see what God has done by putting us together in this time and space. Blessings
