Mission Statement
Cross Creek High School Navy Junior ROTC is a citizenship program which develops our future leaders in citizenship, patriotism, self-discipline, and work ethic. Cross Creek NJROTC is an award winning program. 60% of cadets attend college. Many of the cadets come from single parent homes or are the dependents of our military personnel based at Fort Gordon. Funds for college are critically needed to support these outstanding cadet's future goals. This fund has been dedicated to one of these outstanding cadets who died before being able to realize his goal of attending college.
About This Cause
This scholarship fund was created in the memory of Jalyn Jimenez. Jalyn Jimenez was an outstanding cadet, athlete and student. He died just before the completion of his junior year. Just before his death, he was selected to serve as the Regiment Executive Officer. He was a graduate of the Navy's Leadership Academy. The funds raised for this charity will go to help our top cadets attend college. Cross Creek is a Title 1 school. Many of our cadets are dependents of Army or Navy enlisted personnel. Every dollar collected will go to a deserving cadet. In the Spring of 2015, the cadets at Cross Creek earned $4000 and were able to award four $1000 scholarships. The following Spring, the cadets raised $5000 and were able to award five scholarships. Each year we offer scholarships to graduating seniors. Cross Creek NJROTC has a need for more scholarship funds to support the numerous seniors who graduate each year. Cross Creek's NJROTC cadets contribute more than 7000 hours of community service to the Central Savannah River Area each year. They are nationally recognized as one of the top programs. Please support these worthy cadets. They have risen above the influences of their neighborhoods and have excelled in a very challenging environment. Every contribution to ensuring the future of these cadets and our nation is greatly appreciated.
