Mission Statement
St. Augustine High School is a Catholic school that was established in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1951 for African-American boys. The school was founded by the Josephite Fathers and Brothers and has a long and proud tradition of educating young men so that they graduate prepared to be leaders. The school offers a robust academic curriculum as well as a popular extracurricular and arts program, which includes the nationally recognized Marching 100 band. The school accepts students in grades 8 - 12. Students of all races are encouraged to apply.

Currently in its 67th year of existence, St. Aug is a leading educational institution firmly committed to providing a challenging, yet nurturing academic experience that prepares future leaders who graduate and become proficient in their chosen careers and endeavors. Our students handle adversity well due to the rigorous academic curriculum and unwavering support they receive from caring and nurturing faculty and staff. Our graduates are confident, dedicated, have high moral values and a great work ethic. Most importantly, St. Augustine remains committed to accepting young men, many who face daunting and sometimes overwhelming economic circumstances, and instilling in them a sense of purpose that impacts not only individual students and their families but also the leadership of our entire city, region, and nation. St. Augustine High School is an ever-evolving story written by our Josephite founders and the thousands of alumni who attended this historic and legendary institution. Our ultimate goal continues to focus on instilling in students an unwavering and solid sense of excellence, discipline, Catholic values, and pride.
