The mission of Historic St. Paul AME Church is to serve as a spiritual, cultural, and historical beacon for all people in Lexington, Kentucky, and beyond. Rooted in the principles of faith, liberation, and community service, the church aims to: 1. Provide Spiritual Guidance: Offer a place of worship and spiritual support, fostering faith, hope, and unity within the congregation and the broader community. 2. Preserve African American History: Serve as a custodian of African American heritage by preserving the church's historical legacy, including its pivotal role in the Underground Railroad and the abolitionist movement. 3. Promote Education and Empowerment: Support educational initiatives for youth and adults, continuing the church’s tradition of founding and sustaining schools and programs that uplift marginalized communities. 4. Engage in Community Service: Address the needs of the community through outreach programs, such as education, housing assistance, mentorship, food distribution, and other initiatives aimed at improving the lives of individuals and families. 5. Advocate for Social Justice: Uphold a commitment to equality and justice by actively engaging in efforts to combat racial and economic inequality, both historically and in contemporary times. 6.
