Each Thursday evening volunteers are needed to deliver meals to those living in local extended stay motels. By being a part of meal delivery, volunteers are not only able to meet the physical needs of those served; but volunteers also are able to use each meal to help folks get connected to local resources and next steps. This is an opportunity for all ages, however children who are under 16 will need to serve alongside a parent or guardian. This is a great opportunity for groups of 5 or 10 people.

Each Thursday morning volunteers are needed to assemble sack meals that are designed to create connection points for those living locally in extended stay motels. Volunteers on Thursday morning make sandwiches, assemble bags, fold resource sheets, and color bags. This is opportunity is for all ages, however, to serve on the assembly line, volunteers must be 15 and older. This is a great opportunity for groups of 5 to 10 people.

Manna Cafe Ministries goes out into the community, serving hot meals four days a week. We serve up good food, love, respect and friendship to those that are less fortunate than others. Volunteers help set up the meals, serve the meals and clean up the area after the meals. Adult supervision is requested for children ages 5 to 15.

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) was established in 1971 and serves more than 41,000 low-income senior citizens a month. There are 13,000 seniors enrolled in our homebound delivery program and volunteers are paramount in ensuring that all of our homebound seniors receive a food boxes each month.

Volunteer Information:

•Volunteers must have their own transportation in order to deliver food boxes to seniors
•Volunteers can pick up the food boxes at Focus: HOPE's Central Warehouse anytime between 9am-3:00pm Monday- Friday and the 2nd & 3rd Saturday of the month from 8am to 12pm.
•Once deliveries are completed volunteers must return paperwork to the Central Warehouse staff either by dropping it off or by mail.
•This is a great volunteer opportunity to do with teams, family members or friends.

We (Coal Creek Meals on Wheels) have three large, sunny garden plots this summer in our building's community garden, where we can grow our own herbs! Herbs are especially important to our population, as we don't use much salt. Fresh herbs add amazing flavor and we use them all the time. If you like to cook, you know that fresh herbs are expensive.

We are hoping a group can get together to help us do the planting on the morning of May 30th (9-12AM). At noon, you're welcome to stay for lunch to enjoy some great food and to interact with our clients.

Opportunity Details

The Inland Empire Salsa Festival is bringing together good food and great music for the community to enjoy while benefiting our Riverside County housebound seniors and disabled. The goal is to bring Riverside and surrounding counties together for a fun day of live music, salsa tasting, and food vendors, while raising funds for Meals on Wheels Riverside.

We are looking for volunteers to work: admissions, beer/wine sales, and beer/wine serving. Volunteers will receive free admission into the festival and a free t-shirt.
