We are looking for committed grocery order takers for the following shifts:

Remote Order Taker Shifts Available: Monday’s from 9- 5PM and Tuesdays 9-11AM and 1-3PM. We can tailor the shift to your availability!

- Call clients each week to help them place their grocery orders.
- Weekly commitment, 30 minutes - 2 hours on either Mondays or Tuesdays for at least 6 months.
- Take orders over the phone in our office or remotely from your home or work.
- Order Takers must be 18 years or older.
- Background check required.

On-call Order Takers: Sometimes our regular order takers are unavailable due to vacations or illness, so we need to have a strong list of on-call order takers to make up the orders the regulars may be missing. It's a great opportunity for someone not looking for a weekly commitment!

Store to Door supports independent living for Portland area seniors and people with disabilities by providing an affordable, personal, volunteer-based grocery shopping and delivery service. On Mondays and Tuesdays, volunteers and staff call Store to Door's enrolled clients to take their weekly grocery order; often one of the few calls they receive during the week. Volunteers call the same clients each week, so that “checking in” is a friendly visit.

The remote order taker is a role that you can do from your desk, from your home or during a lunch break. You can call between 1-8 clients a week, as your schedule allows.

Training is provided.

Animal House Project has been operating a companion pet food pantry since 2010 but we seem to be missing a void by not being able to help home-bound seniors and the disabled who have pets and need to obtain food for them as well. For 2018, we would like to create a division within Animal House that addresses the needs of the home-bound by delivering pet food to those that need it. This is a grassroots idea but one that has been proven in other areas of Philadelphia.

The coordinator would work with the Board and the President to find volunteers, food, grants as well as to work with the local Human Meals on Wheels Program managers to assess the need and to execute the program
