Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Grant Writer to join our non-profit organization, Marupo ACTS. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in securing funding to support our mission to empower AAPI immigrant and minority-owned businesses to create diverse cuisines for the Ann Arbor and wider South East Michigan community.
The funds we raise would result in more fun local events (like Asian Night Market, and Cultural performances), while keeping admissions free for all.
Responsibilities:
- Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with Marupo ACTS' mission and goals
- Develop and write high-quality grant proposals, including concept papers, full proposals, and reports
- Conduct needs assessments, analyze data, and develop compelling narratives to support funding requests
- Collaborate with program staff, leadership, and community partners to understand organizational goals and objectives
- Meet deadlines and manage multiple grant writing projects simultaneously
- Maintain accurate records of grant writing activities, including proposal submissions, revisions, and follow-ups
Requirements:
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong understanding of Marupo ACTS' mission, goals, and programs
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Master's degree in English, Communications, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in grant writing for non-profit organizations
- Proven track record of securing significant grants from foundations, corporations, and government agencies
- Familiarity with utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology

Pop-up Tax Clinic with Service Canada and Canada Revenue Agency:Support your community by volunteering at a pop-up tax clinic hosted by Family Services of Greater Vancouver in partnership with Service Canada and Canada Revenue Agency. Assist attendees upon their arrival in accessing the appropriate government services, answering questions, and directing them to the right resources, along with helping to administer a feedback survey. The event helps bridge the gap between community members and essential government services. Many people face barriers such as language, technology, or lack of awareness when trying to access benefits, file taxes, or apply for their SIN. As a volunteer, you play a key role in making these services more accessible and inclusive, especially for vulnerable or underserved populations. It’s also a meaningful opportunity to build your skills, gain insight into public service, and make a tangible impact in your community. A great chance to make a difference and gain valuable experience! Second languages welcome, as well as a desire to assist vulnerable populations. If you already have experience as a CVITP volunteer, that would be an asset, but it is not required. Volunteer shifts are from 10:00am - 1:00pm or 12:00pm - 3:00pm.

Opportunity Details
Volunteers are needed to help sort, bag and distribute grocery items. We have a car line and walk-up line, so volunteers are also needed for both distributing food to walk-ups and putting groceries in the trunks of cars.Several volunteers needed to assist us with grocery sorting and distribution to over 200 cars and walk-ups. We receive around 10,000 pounds of produce, can goods, meats from Feeding the Gulf Coast every Wednesday morning.

Join Us For Field Day!We need your help hosting a fun field day for our students! Complete with favorite classic games, including sack races, egg on a spoon, hula hoops, parachutes, and more, this promises to be a fun-filled day.

· There are two volunteer shifts available (morning 9a-2p or afternoon 1p-6p) and four volunteer categories for each shift. Volunteers do not have to stay for an entire shift.

· During the morning shift (9a-2p), our Early Childhood classrooms will participate in two waves, and during the afternoon shift (1p-6p), our K-6 Afterschool students will join us.
· Some flexibility is possible with the shift times, but we'd like to keep them as close to the posted times as we can.

Sponsors are also needed! You can sponsor a child for as little as $25! Classroom, Center, and Event sponsorships are also available. Proceeds will support our operational and program needs.

On Saturday, June 28th, volunteers are invited to join Albina Vision Trust as we paint a street mural in Lower Albina. The street mural will be painted on NE Flint Avenue, in front of our inaugural 94-unit affordable housing community Albina One, just a few blocks from Hariet Tubman Middle School. The street mural will be designed and painted in partnership with local youth, designed to bring life and joy to the neighborhood, build community and relationship with neighbors, and create a sense of place. The street mural is part of the grand opening of this new housing community that will welcome individuals and families back to Lower Albina for the first time in over four decades.Available Shifts
