The Karim Kharbouch Coding Fellowship (KKCF) provides high-school students with paid opportunities to develop employable skills in STEM. This program is free, and offers participants a stipend during their summer instruction.

The Knowledge House wants to welcome volunteers to come visit our Los Angeles office, and see how we’re empowering the community through tech education! Tour our facility, meet our instructors, and see our fellows in action as they develop essential career skills.

We are seeking volunteers to come and speak to our fellows, and share insights about building a career in tech. This is an opportunity to reflect on your own journey, and give advice to fellows that will greatly improve their confidence and competence. Our fellows will also ask questions; questions are submitted via Q&A ahead of time, and we will share them prior to the event. Career instructors can provide insight about lesson content to inform discussion.

We are looking for 3 volunteers to join us for a 1-hour speed mentoring session. As a volunteer, you’ll station tables to help students practice professional networking skills. Tables are pre-set with themes and a small collection of 3-4 questions about that theme. Students rotate tables so they can speak to a variety of people about several topics. Volunteers and fellows encouraged to generate a QR code to their Linkedin for easy connections.

This event will occur in-person at our Los Angeles location.

The Innovation Fellowship (IF) supplies adult learners with in-demand technology skills in cyber security, data science, and web development. This year-long program has fellows complete portfolio projects, and obtain technical certifications. The Karim Kharbouch Coding Fellowship (KKCF) provides high-school students with paid opportunities to develop employable skills in STEM. This program is free, and offers participants a stipend during their summer instruction.

The Knowledge House is partnering with Synchrony Skills Academy to "Spring Forward" at our Behavioral Mock Interview event! We are looking for 20 volunteers to join us for a 1-hour behavioral mock interview session. Volunteers will guide TKH Fellows through mock interviews, offering personalized feedback and helpful tips to boost confidence and career skills.

Marupo ACTS (Asian Culinary and Traditions Society) will hold a charity event for celebrating and promoting AAPI Food and Culture during Immigrant month.

There will be no attendance charge for this community event, though donations are accepted.

When: June 13th 2025, 3PM to 10:30PM (Event is 5pm-9PM)
Where: 315 Detroit Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48104 (Ann Arbor/Kerrytown Farmers Market)

With the recent increase in Asian-hate crime, it is crucial to create safe spaces and opportunities for the broader public to understand & ally with Asian minorities.

With that in mind, the main goal of this event is to promote AAPI small businesses in the Washtenaw County region and give them an outlet to connect with potential supporters and customers. At the same time, we wish to let event attendees and allies of the AAPI community congregate and enjoy a good community bonding experience.

Day-of Volunteers are expected to assist with the following:
- Help direct attendees to to find their desired vendor/booth
- Assist Vendors with needs (power, equipment, support) including being messengers with overall Event Operations Team so vendors do not have to leave their stalls unattended
- Sitting at the Marupo ACTS booth to greet attendees and answer questions related to the event
- Assisting in day-of-event set up and tear down which may include set up the morning of the event of previous evening of the event
- Posting flyers in physical and digital community board around Washtenaw County to spread awareness about this event
- Take out trash throughout the event to avoid overflow
- Other tasks (day of / or remote before event date) as discussed between supervisors and volunteers based on availability and skill/need match

1. Healing Hands Program – Breaking Barriers to Essential Care

The Problem:
Children with special needs in low-income families often wait over two years for psychological assessments in the public system, delaying critical diagnoses for autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other neurodiversities. Without a diagnosis, they cannot access the therapies and support they desperately need. Private assessments and therapies are prohibitively expensive, leaving many families without options.

Our Solution:
The Healing Hands Program ensures that children receive timely, professional support by funding:
✅ Psychoeducational Assessments – Providing formal diagnoses so children can access proper care and accommodations.
✅ Essential Therapies – Covering costs for speech therapy, psychology, occupational therapy, and other interventions tailored to each child’s needs.
✅ Immediate Access to Care – Eliminating financial barriers so children can receive support when they need it most.

Every moment a child waits for help is a moment lost in their development. Healing Hands gives families the resources they need to help their children communicate, grow, and thrive—because no child’s future should depend on their family’s income.

2. Mind Mastery Program – Unlocking Potential for neurodiverse children in low-income families through Personalized Education

The Problem:
Public schools are overwhelmed and underfunded, leaving neurodiverse students without the proper resources to thrive. Many families cannot afford private tutoring, resulting in children falling behind, losing confidence, and feeling isolated in their education.
The Solution: The Mind Mastery Program by CJ Riders Foundation is designed to fund personalized tutoring and educational support for neurodiverse children who struggle in traditional learning environments. Many children with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other learning differences face unique challenges in school, often lacking the specialized instruction they need to succeed.
