Women play an essential role in creating stability, driving progress, and achieving long-term development goals. Investing in them is key to accelerating sustainable development. That's why Mercy Corps works to position women at the forefront of climate resilience efforts and become recognised as central to their community's wellbeing. In the places where we work, we provide women and girls with business training, help expand access to education, and work with local partners to foster inclusive decision-making.

This one-hour session invites employees to explore the link between gender, climate change, and community resilience. They will also take part in an interactive activity through real life decision-making scenarios, focused on the challenges faced by women in Nepal. By the end of the session, participants will:

- Understand how and why Mercy Corps works within the unique intersection of women and climate change.
- Learn how Mercy Corps is helping empower women around the globe to build climate resilience in their communities.
- Feel inspired to support our efforts to break down the barriers women and girls face around the world.

Take your stand against childhood cancer this summer! Anyone, anywhere can hold a lemonade stand — it is free to sign up and there is no minimum fundraising requirement. Pick a date between June 1-30, register your stand at no cost and we can send you a kit with decorations.

“If everyone has lemonade stands, I think we can do it.” - Alex Scott, Founder of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF)

This annual tradition of holding lemonade stand fundraisers every June began with our 8-year-old founder, Alex Scott. She wanted to raise $1 million to give “her doctors” so they could find cures for kids fighting cancer, like her. Her determination inspired others to take their stand for the cause, and they helped her reach $1 million with lemonade stands before she passed away from her cancer in 2004. Every year since, supporters who hold lemonade stands during Lemonade Days continue to raise millions and much more!
