This includes barn chores, grooming, organizing supplies, and helping prepare the space for Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) sessions. This activity is vital because it ensures the safety and well-being of our equine partners—who are central to the therapeutic process—and creates a supportive setting for individuals participating in trauma recovery. The annual Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar (HOBY) of Tennessee is 2.5 days of activities, discussions, speakers, and panels for 100 high school sophomores from around the state. They’ll learn about how to grow their personal, group, and service leadership, and then be charged to put that knowledge into action through a challenge of 100 service hours in their local community over the next year. There are plenty of ways to get involved in the seminar! Looking for more of a backstage role? We’ve got plenty of operation-based roles such as helping with check-in, the college fair, greeting speakers, setting up activities, and more.
Volunteers will arrive the evening of June 5th, with students arriving the morning of June 6th. By volunteering, we will house and feed you through the seminar. All volunteers must stay on-site for the entire seminar until June 8th at around 3:30 PM.
