GivingTuesday was born and incubated at the 92nd Street Y and its Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact in New York City. GivingTuesday is now a focus for our Cause that inspires people to give, collaborate, volunteer and celebrate generosity.
We need creative individuals that can leverage their graphic capabilities and/or social media. Ideally, we could even identify someone to help us put together a Video to post on our Social Media accounts.

Volunteer For The Holidays
• Volunteer are able to come in from Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm
• CAPSBC can safely accommodate up to 10 volunteers, 2 groups of 5
• Start shift begins on Dec 7th 2020
• End shift is unknown at this time
• An estimate of 5,000 toys will be handed out
Volunteer Assignment
• Volunteers will receive a description of what a kid/teen may be interested in and will be in essence “shopping” for them in the CAPSBC warehouse
• Select toys that you think the kids will be interested in
• Package each toy in a bag, which will be provided
Disclaimer! Volunteers who help out will not automatically receive free toys or incentives, if they wish to receive toys for the holidays they can register on the CAPSBC website https://www.capsbc.org/events

* Collaborate with our Fundraising team to create a strategy for your sector (e.g., healthcare, education, finance)
* Attend a one-on-one orientation session to learn about United Way and the programs we support
* Canvass businesses, answer questions, and share ways to get involved
* Report back on progress during monthly meetings

As a Donation Center volunteer, you will have the opportunity to change thousands...one suit at a time We need your help to ensure that our clients receive nothing but the best. As a Donation Center volunteer, you will be assigned to tasks such as donor engagement, quality control, sorting donations, sizing, tagging and finding hidden gems!
We also hand select a curated selection of high quality new and gently used donations to be resold at one of four of our resale Hanger Boutiques and Hanger Outlets throughout Orange County. This not only provides a great service to our community, it also helps us support sustainability efforts by reducing the amount of waste generated from the fast fashion industry. $.83 of every dollar made goes back into our programs!

Our trivia meetings typically last 45 minutes. Our participants always enjoy meeting new friends. Please reach out to schedule a session for your group to join us!

IU Connect is a platform and website for IntoUniversity students now at university or following other pathways (aged 18+), and it enables them to connect and access support from IntoUniversity, peers and professional volunteers. We welcome professional volunteers onto the platform to e-mentor our students, for example providing information about your career/sector, support developing soft skills, help with CV/applications/interviews, networking top tips and more. Once volunteers are signed up to the platform, they are manually matched with a student with similar interests. Mentoring pairs can talk on the platform, via the chat function, or can communicate through other means such as email, phone call or video call.Commitment: At least one form of meaningful communication every 2-3 weeks for 2-3 months.
Date: Flexible.
Location: Online, initially on IU Connect and subsequently can be via a platform that best suits the mentoring pair.
