The goal and purpose of this event is for the Bridgeport High School Class of 2019 to put on a musical for educational and entertainment purposes for the students, parents, the community, and the public in general. This annual tradition is important to the senior class as a way to bond together before going their separate ways and for some seniors to try something new. We would like for Kohl's employees to help in the lobby before, during and after the shows, specifically the concession stand and possibly other areas, to free up the parents to help in other needed areas.

For years now, Khan Academy provides a free, worldclass education for anyone, anywhere. What we do is work on its localization, awareness and adoption in Bulgarian. Your donations will help us bring this free, prominent digital learning resource to thousands of Bulgarian children, especially those more than 40% without access to quality education.

We empower Bulgarian students to learn at their own pace in and outside the classroom: The Bulgarian localization of Khan Academy will give Bulgarian kids access to 10 000 world-class video lessons and 100 000 interactive exercises in math, science and other subjects - free for everyone, everywhere. With Khan Academy, students learn while having fun, and parents and teachers easily follow and foster their performance. We want to let Bulgaria participate in this global community of 66 million learners worldwide!

You could contribute to our cause by:
1. becoming Khan Academy Ambassador: spread the word about it and/or organize fundraising events in your community;
2. helping us with technical analyses or by finding IT solutions in our work with data;
3. translating;
4. proofreading;
5. video editing;
6. dubbing;
7. giving us expert advice on the localization in: physics, biology, chemistry, astronomy and cosmology;
8. mentoring students with Khan Academy.

These workshops for middle and high school students to introduce them to STEM Careers. The cafes take place in informal settings where STEM professionals share their career journey & current work with students & engage them in hands-on activity or demo connected to their work. These cafés will take place monthly on weekday evenings.

Opportunity Details

We seek a director the board and secretary to join the 501(c)3. This will involve minimal activity but is legally required. Our previous director is stepping down. Previous experience of being a non-profit director is NOT required. All that's required is being somewhat organized with paperwork and preferably an interest in STEM education. There's an opportunity to get involved with mentoring the team of enthusiastic high schoolers but that is not required.
