The Boa Foundation is seeking a volunteer grant writer. Ideally, you have experience or are eager to learn about writing grants pertaining to the preservation of indigenous communities and environmental initiatives. If you're passionate about protecting the Amazon rainforest - this is the perfect gig for you!Bonus: you have experience working with international nonprofits.
The Boa Foundation's Mission:
To work in alliance with indigenous communities to preserve and protect sacred land, culture, and ancient wisdom. We support projects including strategic land buybacks, restoration of native ecosystems, cultural exchange, and sustainable living solutions.
Our planet is magnificent. Life has evolved for millions of years, creating a rich and diverse ecosystem, an intricate web where all life can thrive. The climate crisis is the result of a deep imbalance on the Earth. Our species has been extracting, producing, and polluting without much consideration for other forms of life, even our own. This imbalance is a symptom of our alienation from natural rhythms, cycles, and systems, and our lack of caring relationship to our world. This also manifests in ever-increasing crises in mental health, breakdown of communities, and auto-immune diseases being diagnosed at alarming rates. The Boa Foundation works together with indigenous communities worldwide to address these issues holistically, supporting both cultural and natural biodiversity, and the healing of the planet.
Here's a list of our current projects we are working on: https://www.theboafoundation.org/our-projects

Wildfire Prevention knowledge analyst, CrowdDoing VolunteerPrevention derivatives is driven by the thesis that there is an under-valuation of passive risk (or the cost of inaction) and an under-prioritization of positive risk. Correspondingly for wildfires as an example, there is an under-recognition of the potential shared value upside of preventative action through social innovation and social interventions (such as goats & sheep that prevent wildfires). CrowdDoing.world's aim is to guarantee positive risk through leveraging existing liabilities to allow for the implications of prescriptive analytics to be financed. The under-pricing of passive risk means that liabilities are treated as either costs of doing business or un-predictable risks even for entirely preventable risks. Risk management offices have been too biased towards avoiding taking the wrong risks rather than ensuring that institutions make their own luck by seizing the abundant positive risk opportunities in social innovation. Meanwhile, the bias against positive risk leaves social innovations not to get adopted even if there would be remarkable benefits to all stakeholders if they were adopted

At the event, volunteers comb the beaches to find, remove and record marine debris, more commonly known as litter.
