We run corporate volunteer groups in our Tallaght hub on Tuesdays between 10 am and 2 pm.Our main activities are sorting and packing up clothes, nappies, essentials and gift packs; as well as organising buggies and cots for the families we deliver to that week. We help up to 20 families each week and need enthusiastic volunteers to help us prepare mama and baby items.
If you would like to make a real difference for families in need and have some fun in the process (coffee, tea and biscuits are provided), please get in touch with us!
Where possible, we recommend a suggested donation of €25 per participant who comes to our hub, to cover our costs and support our mission. This can be covered by donations of baby items brought with you on the day or by a cash or online donation.
For the list of items needed, or to donate online, please see https://communityconnect.ie/corpvol/

The Associazione Banco Alimentare della Toscana (Tuscany’s regional food bank), which is part of the larger Italian national network of the “Fondazione Banco Alimentare”, provides nutritional support to those in need. Its mission is best expressed by the motto "combat waste and combat hunger". The important work carried out by the Banco Alimentare benefits four key areas:Social: perfectly good food, which may otherwise be discarded, is gathered via different channels and given a "second life" by the redistribution to 550 accredited charitable organizations which, in turn, reallocates the food items, at no cost, to over 125,000 disadvantaged individuals throughout the region.
Economical: the redistribution of good food adds new economic value.
Environmental: the recovery of food avoids its waste, leading to savings in energy resources as well as the recycling of packaging.
Educational: since its origins, “in sharing community needs, the meaning of life is shared" has been at the center of the Banco’s actions.
The Banco Alimentare warmly invites company employees to join the Banco’s team as active volunteers to assist with the unpacking, sorting and repacking of food items arriving and/or departing from its warehouse. Participating volunteers can provide their service for either full or half days (mornings only) during company hours from Monday through Friday. The Banco’s warehouse is headquartered c/o Centro Alimentare Polivalente in Piazza Artom 12, Florence.
