The amount of waste generated in Indian cities has seen a manifold increase over the years. Much of this waste is never collected and finds its way to our streets, slums, parks and water bodies that are anyways heavily encroached and where the most vulnerable reside. This waste not only poses a grave environmental challenge to the humans but also to the other species in our ecosystem.

Citizens are getting more aware about these challenges and want to work in their own small ways towards mitigating such challenges. However, not many find the avenues or guidance to take these steps. Thus, the interest and keenness to contribute withers away.

As an organization, working on education and environment, we believe that we need to utilize such opportunities to connect people with nature – their immediate environment and the larger ecological systems. It is through such awareness about the interdependence that we can bring about changes.

The Nature Connect - Awareness through Action is conceived as a simple yet powerful action oriented, experiential program that raises awareness about the challenges around waste. Through this programme the participants will be able to see for themselves the issues related to waste generation and how it is impacting our environment and ecological systems including the water bodies. The programme is modelled around experiential design methodology of how citizens can approach problems and do their bit by understanding the issue and then taking small and mindful actions in their daily lives.

Come volunteer and participate in the weekly/bi-weekly (held on Sundays) clean up drives. You can join yourself and get your friends and colleagues and family along for a chance to make a difference and feel good.
