The Lupus Foundation of Northern California and the Lupus Foundation of Southern California will be merging as of July 1st to become the California Lupus Foundation—a united organization serving all lupus patients across our vast and diverse state.
This is both exciting and daunting. The need is great. The stories we hear from patients—from San Diego to Redding—are filled with resilience, but also with fear, pain, and isolation. They need education, support, advocacy, and care. And we are committed to being there for them.
We will continue to offer our programs and services which include:
Free online health conferences that connect patients with experts and hope
Peer support groups statewide
Training for volunteer leaders and advocates
Outreach to underserved communities who too often face lupus alone.

As 2 small non-profits, neither of us has a graphic designer and we want our new logo to be professional looking and engaging to our community. If you are a graphic designer who designs logos we would love to hear from you! Put your talent to good use and help us launch our new Foundation!

Creating a movement around empowering youth to navigate the challenges of the digital era is critical because this is not an issue one nonprofit, one school, or one parent can solve alone — it’s a systemic, cultural challenge that is growing fast. Gen Z is the first generation born fully into a digital-first world, and the effects are profound: rising loneliness, anxiety, diminished self-esteem, and a weakening of real-world social and leadership skills. These issues fuel a global mental health crisis that traditional programs can’t fully address. A movement is needed to drive public awareness, shift cultural norms, and foster a sense of community and belonging — the very antidote to digital-era isolation. This isn’t about pitying Gen Z — it’s about recognizing their power and giving them the tools to thrive. By building a movement, we create opportunities for mentorship, emotional resilience, human connection, and leadership development — while empowering today’s youth to become tomorrow’s mentors and changemakers. Movements scale impact by rallying diverse partners — families, schools, businesses, policymakers — and by sustaining momentum long after any single program ends. In a world increasingly shaped by screens and algorithms, we need a human-centered movement that champions connection, resilience, and leadership — and that’s exactly what Rise Together Movement is building.
