Assist our 100% volunteer run animal rescue with the daily care of the cats we rescue, including cleaning cat cages, feeding, socializing and taking care of general area. Also needed is assistance with adoption events, to help transport cats to and from the events and also help fundraise at these events as well. These adoption events help us get exposure and promote the cause of animal rescue. We also provide educational literature for new pet owners, nutrition, and general pet care.

The Social Media Team will collaboratively manage railLA's social media accounts, currently Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube. Roles and tasks will vary throughout the day, but may include posting relevant news for High-Speed Rail, Metro Rail, and transportation related stories on the social media sites, commenting on relevant trending topics, scheduling posts, shooting photos for Instagram, and creating memes. Wit, clever humor, and creativity are appreciated. The Social Media Team will collaborate via email and group text and is responsible for maintaining the brand of railLA on social media and serving as a public face for the non-profit while creating content on social media. The team will work directly with the Marketing and Communications committee. Los Angeles, Venice, Santa Monica locals are preferred.

This committee is made up of people willing to interview and work with families who have made application to be a partner family with Habitat. These people will also check to make certain that the applicant families meet the criteria established by Habitat for homeownership. Working with the Family Support Committee, you will find certain joy in making what seems an unobtainable dream come true for some of these families!

We have a number of special events that help provide necessary funding for many of our activities and programs for our youth. Our resources are low, so we depend of volunteers to help leverage our man-power. Each year, we do at a minimum of two special events, and sometimes three or more. This year, we are hosting a 5k run and are in need of volunteers to be on the steering committee and other various committees. Our goal with this event is to raise awareness and money for our Safe Place Program that helps keep teens off the streets.
