DETAILS
Flexible Volunteer Business Mentoring & Advising
You choose who you work with as well as when, where and how you meet. Everything can be done virtually, with the option to meet in-person. You can join Skysthelimit.org at any time by creating your profile on the platform and attending a virtual orientation training. Each volunteer decides how often and how long they will work with a given entrepreneur.
Skill Development
Developing the ability to coach and mentor effectively across diverse teams is a top skill for managers. Improving inclusive communication requires real-world practice with diverse communities.
Meaningful Impact
Our program offers a transformative experience for both the mentor and the mentee. You’ll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships within our community and could help change the trajectory of a young person’s life and maybe even your own!
How it Works:
Mentors and advisors usually work with one young entrepreneur at a time, supporting them in a combination of in-person and virtual forums depending upon what is needed.
Mentoring and advising sessions usually last ~1hr and take place remotely or in-person (if possible) a few times a month.
Mentors/advisors and young entrepreneurs can end their matches at any time.
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to quickly create a trusting relationship founded on the right intentions, recognizing the respect you show to your young entrepreneur and the confidence our young people place in you.
A strong belief in and demonstrated alignment with skysthelimit.org's social mission, and an interest in small business development.
Patience and empathy to "get in the shoes" of our young entrepreneurs, identifying and providing the support that they need when they need it.
Ability to appropriately break down business strategy and effectively communicate with young entrepreneurs, while understanding your role as a mentor, not an owner.
Please contact Danee at program@skysthelimit.org for more information! We would love to hear from you.

The Banana App is a tech initiative of the Be Good Project in an effort to help alleviate poverty by preventing unintentional hunger and reducing food wastage. Our mobile-based project "Banana App" will provide supermarkets/groceries/produce-stands/restaurants a time-sensitive platform to donate bananas/produce/foods/meals that are considered not aesthetically-pleasing for market display or sale but are still edible and in good condition.
Verified no-to-low-income clients/homeless individuals will be able to register using our app. Upon completion and approval of the application, the user can accept and pick up these donations.
UPDATE: In response to the recent CoVid situation that has affected our communities, we believe that this is a great time to increase development work on our initiative as even though there are obvious changes in buying habits from both consumers and manufacturers, food waste is inevitable and must be addressed more than ever as hunger tend to exist more when an epidemic hits our local economy. This is an urgent opportunity to help us work on increasing value, partnership and strategic planning to help us acheive a successful launch of our App.
This is an important work and we need people just like you.
