The Maryland Farmers Market Association provides matching for low-income customers who use their federal benefits at the farmers market. We need volunteers to help at the market to assist our Food Access Coordinator at the market table - interacting with customers and assisting with tasks such as handing out information, and gathering customer data. This is a great opportunity for an outgoing person who loves to talk to all sorts of people and enjoys being outside at the farmers market. We look forward to having you help our team make sure more fresh food is accessible to all Marylanders regardless of income.

ARC’s board primarily provides working support, governance and policy oversight.
Board Member responsibilities include:

A lightness of spirit and willingness to have fun, connect and be joyful together in the leadership of life changing organization
18 to 20 hour per month time commitment, including committee participation for strategic plan implementation, 40th anniversary events, and other projects (five hours a week)
Give/Get donation: $500 first full calendar year on board, $1,000 each for second and third years.
3-year terms, renewable once before a mandatory hiatus of one year. Re-appointment after the hiatus would be for a new 3-year term.
Volunteer at ARC at least one weekend annually, 2 or more volunteer visits would be gratefully received.
Attend bi-monthly meetings
Assist in recruiting new board members as positions become open and as you prepare to cycle off.
BOARD MEMBER SKILLS WISH LIST

Finance/Accounting/CPA background or experience to serve as Treasurer to assist the board and ARC leadership and contracted bookkeeper with financial oversight and planning.
Fundraising experience or interest, including an Individuals with corporate or foundation connections who are willing to help ARC build its network are especially desired.
Marketing skills including planning, development and/or advising on outbound marketing materials including print, digital and social media.
Event Planning: Experience planning and executing events large and small to assist with our 40th anniversary festivities in 2018.
Individuals with other skillsets are also encouraged to apply.

1. Teaching new volunteers skills in dancing, song, acting with teamwork and discipline.
2. Learning to sew basic costumes and to create and design costumes and accessories to harmonize with the theme.
3. To construct and teach how to build and create sets on stage that goes with the theme and follows safety codes.
4. Learn and teach use of microphone, amplifier, equipment.
5. Learn and teach how lighting is best use, the use of spotlight, and the use of screen projector.
6. Learn and teach the most effective way to do marketing and the use of social media.
7. Learn and teach how to collect and use data most effectively so can plan how to reach more people and what themes are the most enjoyable for what age group.

Who: Volunteers Needed to help assembly baby bath buckets filled with bath essentials for the upcoming Military Baby Shower. Kids, Teens and Adults are welcome to assist.

Time: 6-8pm (You do not have to stay the entire 2 hours)

Opportunity Details

We will be supporting 200 expecting and new military moms with a baby shower. Most of these moms are ranked E5 and below (eligible for food stamps) have husbands deployed or soon to be deployed.

Female Volunteers: Will be paired up with a mom, you'll sit with her, eat with her, hold her baby, ooh and ahh over all the cute gifts she will open and help pack up her car when it's time to leave.

Male Volunteers: Will help with registration, parking, photo assistants, lifting of heavy items etc.

We are seeking someone who is skilled in Social Media marketing - particularly on Facebook and Instagram - someone very experienced in social media strategy and implementation to help us do the following:

Increase the number of ENGAGEMENT &  LIKES on our Facebook and Instagram pages 
Increase the number of comments and post engagement on our Facebook and Instagram page 
Increase the number of re-tweets and engagement with our Twitter account.
This is a remote role.

* Your content expertise goes far beyond white papers and blogs, and includes the ability to manage video
