Position OverviewBASAID is a charitable organisation that supports small projects around the world through direct development aid. We are seeking a professional and energetic Fundraising Expert with experience in fundraising and an easy-going personality to join our dynamic organisation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies to achieve our organization’s financial goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to volunteer in a collaborative environment where you can grow professionally while making a significant impact on our NGO mission.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans that align with organizational goals and objectives.
Donor Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors, ensuring effective communication and stewardship.
Campaign Management: Plan and execute fundraising campaigns, events, and activities to engage donors and increase contributions.
Grant Writing: Research, identify, and apply for grants from corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
Reporting and Analysis: Monitor and evaluate fundraising activities, providing detailed reports on progress and outcomes.
Marketing and Communications: Collaborate with the comms team to create compelling fundraising materials, including brochures, newsletters, and social media content.
Volunteer Coordination: Create, train, and manage fundraising volunteers team to support fundraising efforts and events.
Database Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in collaboration with the CRM leader.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a related role.
Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency in using fundraising software and donor databases.
Certifications: Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential preferred, but not required.

Experience: Proven track record of successful fundraising campaigns and events.
Soft-spoken Demeanor: Ability to engage with donors and volunteers in a courteous and respectful manner.
Innovative Thinking: Creative approach to developing new fundraising ideas and strategies.
Networking: Ability to build and maintain a network of contacts within the community and industry.
Self-starter: can initiate and complete tasks without needing constant instruction
Experience with Giving platforms is a plus

· A willingness to dedicate time and resources to board activities and organizational needs.
· Experience serving on a non-profit board (preferred but not required).
Commitment
· Term: Board members typically serve a term of 2–3 years, with the possibility of renewal.
· Meetings: Attendance at quarterly board meetings (in-person or virtual) and participation in one or more committees.
· Fundraising: Active involvement in fundraising campaigns, including a personal annual “give or get” contribution reflective of your capacity.

Responsibilities:
- Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with Marupo ACTS' mission and goals
- Develop and write high-quality grant proposals, including concept papers, full proposals, and reports
- Conduct needs assessments, analyze data, and develop compelling narratives to support funding requests
- Collaborate with program staff, leadership, and community partners to understand organizational goals and objectives
- Meet deadlines and manage multiple grant writing projects simultaneously
- Maintain accurate records of grant writing activities, including proposal submissions, revisions, and follow-ups
Requirements:
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong understanding of Marupo ACTS' mission, goals, and programs
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Master's degree in English, Communications, or a related field
