We are looking for professionals to serve in our Business & Entrepreneur Assessment (BEA) Program. Please enroll as a mentor at https://form.jotform.com/92877953767178
About the BEA
Launching or growing a business can be complicated and overwhelming. The many factors involved - money, team, technology, marketing, legal, accounting - cause many people who want to be entrepreneurs and business owners to forego the opportunity to invest in their own talents, skills, and ideas.Even worse, some people count themselves out before fully exploring or understanding their options.
Black Connect’s Business & Entrepreneur Assessment (BEA) Program helps individuals who aspire to launch or grow a business venture, but need a roadmap to achieving their goals. This assessment program can help members to not only understand their strengths and capabilities, but can also provide useful guidance for creating a business plan and finding additional resources. The BEA program is the first component of Black Connect’s developing business incubator.
Objectives
The BEA helps participants answer fundamental questions such as:
1. Is entrepreneurship and business ownership right for me?
2. What type of business is best suited for me?
3. What roles do I need to fill for my business idea to succeed?
4. Should I form a corporation, LLC, or sole proprietorship?
5. How should I market my business?
6. What expenses should I expect in launching my business?
7. How do I develop a prototype?
8. How can I acquire more customers?
9. Which technology is best for my business?
10. How can I strengthen my business plan?
Features and Benefits for Business Mentors ("Mentors")
Mentors do not have to be business owners. Only experience in a business-related area is needed - sales, marketing, product development, insurance, accounting, law, banking, etc. We also need mental health professionals (therapists, counselors) who can help members cope with the stress of owning a business.
Mentors serve in a voluntary capacity.
Mentors play an integral part of helping Black Connect fulfill its mission of launching and growing Black-owned businesses.
Mentors may be designated moderators of the Black Connect Business Forum on Blackconnect.com.
100% remote with flexible scheduling and minimum time commitment.

Notre Maison Connects believes in “Helping Communities Thrive” through two awesome initiatives, Greater Youth Initiative (GYI) and Connect Cares (CC). We find it absolutely necessary to assist our unemployed, low income based students with transportation to and from our class. In the Greater Youth Initiative, we work with students 12 weeks in the spring and another group of students for 12 weeks in the fall. We pay for their drivers education class and CPR/First Aid Certification. We also teach financial literacy, computer literacy, fine dining etiquette and so much more. If they do well in the program, they may travel with Connect Cares to revive child care centers abroad. Therefore, we need transportation, a van. In an effort to raise funds for a van, we conduct community fundraisers to enlighten people about our organization and the awesome students we serve. We host “Grill Outs” during the spring, summer and fall. We set up our grill outside of our office to provide lunch for a reasonable price while our partakers walk away with a delicious meal knowing they are also supporting a great cause. We also host the Charles Village Business Walk, which is a three block business collaboration sidewalk sale. Business owners between St. Paul and Howard Street come together, invite other business owners to join us as we all set out tables and tents and sell items or provide services to bypassers. It is an amazing celebration of business and community collaborations. It is held biannually, in the spring and the fall. Our next Charles Village Business Walk is scheduled for September 25, 2021.Available Shifts
