Mission Statement

Computing for Humanity’s mission is to work in partnership with researchers, institutions, donors and influential networks to accelerate the pace of medical advancements by making readily available high performance computing resources. No human advancement should wait in line for computing time!

About This Cause

Computing for Humanity’s mission has been expanded from cancer research to include supporting the growth of human-health focused research covering the demand for analysis of any other diseases, any restrictions on human life, the fight against climate change, agriculture and sustainable food, COVID-19 research, and the integration of technology to support management and public safety. We remain attentive to conversations, with both our researchers and donors, and their alignments. Our team of volunteers is our core strength, and each member is passionate about advancing our mission. Researchers use software tools to translate theory into mathematical models that work to identify new ways of suppressing the genes that cause cancerous tumors to form, or analyze the clinical data outcomes from human or animal drug therapies. Our mission includes support to the research of Alzheimer's disease, the study of protein systems and the discovery of novel therapeutic agents (e.g. antibodies), biomarkers, and proteins for specific applications including key disease-related protein mechanisms. As pervasive as computers are in our everyday life the compute resources that researchers need to drive their work are scarce, expensive and without information technology skills and expertise, difficult to harness.. As pervasive as computers are in our everyday life the compute resources that researchers need to drive their work are scarce, expensive and without information technology skills and expertise, difficult to harness. We can provide free or discounted (made possible by donations from you) computational resources, programming, workflow scripting, program optimization, improving parallelism...there are so many areas we can help researchers to diminish, bypass, or even eliminate roadblocks, to help them save time & money, and moving our understanding, of what is perhaps the most significant challenges facing humanity, ever forward, and improving quality and length of life, of tens of millions that will be diagnosed every year with cancer or other diseases. Defeating cancer is a long and arduous battle but our vision has broadened and there are more projects looking forward to being supported. We’re off to a great start, having made significant contributions to over thirty projects that span the globe. We’re asking for your donations, in helping us grow, and make ever more computing and assistance available to researchers in the future. Donate Today!
