Mission Statement
Our mission is to help relieve the burdens of poverty and social dislocation within the economically deprived and street population of Oshawa. Originally a drop-in centre, the Back Door Mission has expanded its services during the COVID-19 pandemic and is currently operating Mission United, a low-barrier community hub.

We bring in occasional services as well such as tax preparation and haircuts. We are a leader in community development through collaboration with the Gap Committee and other local agencies. We strive to not only provide the essentials for individuals in need, but to make a meaningful impact in their lives and future. Our staff work endlessly to engage our patrons in activities that assist them in developing an increased self-worth and confidence.
