About This Cause
La Pine Community Health Center (LCHC) is a nonprofit, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides primary medical care to all ages as well as x-ray, lab, health education, behavioral health and outreach services such as Oregon Health Plan enrollment, transportation and assistance purchasing prescriptions and durable medical equipment. LCHC has 6 locations with a service area of 25,000 residents. Many of the patients that we serve are underinsured or uninsured and need assistance in order to receive the medical care that they deserve. Our services beyond primary medical care exist to close gaps in care and remove barriers that the patient may have. These ancillary services cannot be billed to insurance. We do receive grants for this work, but they are not consistently available.
