Mission Statement

At BRIDGEGOOD, we believe that creativity drives growth and economic success. Our mission is to break barriers and create pathways for under-resourced students and job seekers of color by providing critical access to professional opportunities and tech literacy. With a focus on equity and inclusion, we empower diverse individuals to thrive in the tech and design industries, transforming their potential into lasting economic and community impact. We specialize in equipping job seekers, particularly those aged 18 and older, with the skills needed to excel in today’s innovation-driven economy. Our programs are designed to uplift women of color—especially those identifying as Black, Latino/a/x, Southeast Asian, and Pacific Islander—as well as immigrants, DACA recipients, LGBTQIA+ individuals, people with disabilities, international students, military families, and veterans. By fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment, we celebrate the unique perspectives and lived experiences of every participant, ensuring their voices are amplified and valued. Our vision is to cultivate empathetic design leaders capable of creating global change. Through mentorship, skill-building, and industry-aligned training, BRIDGEGOOD bridges the gap between underrepresented communities and the thriving tech sector. About This Cause

BRIDGEGOOD: Equitable Tech Access, Creative Empowerment, Real Opportunity Formerly Oakland Digital Arts and Literacy Center Inc., BRIDGEGOOD is a nationally recognized, Oakland-based nonprofit that prepares underrepresented creatives—especially women of color—for successful careers in the design and technology sectors. We provide tuition-free training, industry mentorship, and real-world skill-building that unlocks access to some of the world’s fastest-growing, highest-impact careers. Our mission is rooted in a single belief: Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not. We exist to change that. Our Mission: Equitable Tech Access for All BRIDGEGOOD bridges the digital divide by offering free, industry-aligned design and tech education to first-generation college students, immigrants, and job seekers from historically excluded communities. Our core goal is to create career pathways in fields where BIPOC professionals are underrepresented — including UX Design, UI Design, Product Design, Visual Design, and emerging technologies such as AI, VR, AR, and Accessibility Design. We empower students not just to learn, but to lead. By fostering a design mindset, we equip participants to solve real-world problems, challenge injustice, and build products that center empathy, ethics, and inclusion. By 2030, we aim to train 40,000 student designers and connect them with sustainable careers across the U.S. and beyond. BRIDGEGOOD provides that and more.
