About This Cause

Indoor ARENA The Capital Campaign for the Indoor arena is now in phase 3. The 120x80’ Arena has been built and now the walls and doors are needed so that our delicate riders can be protected from the blowing wind, rain and snow. With the Hope as well to Build a horse stable as well on the property so that our Herd can be right where we need them to be for our programs. The stable would be handicap accessible to allow our delicate students to enter and visit or aid our volunteers in prepare their horse for the lessons they have came to receive. Hanging out at the barn with their favorite horse brings a since of calm and enjoyment! Breaking Free Therapeutic Riding Center began as a calling by God for founder Linda Lake in 2005, which gave her the deep desire to serve children with disabilities in a unique and lasting way. As a new organization the relationship with PATH International (Profession Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) began that would serve the larger community. Breaking Free became a charitable organization by the State of Ohio and applied and received its 501c3 status January 24, 2008. From its inception, Breaking Free board of directors has looked to Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Int.) and in following their strict standards becoming a Premier Accredited Center in 2013. Capital Campaign Support this cause by donating • Funds (Brick-n-Mortar, Program, Fundraisers Sponsorships, Equine care, etc.) • Labor (Volunteerism) • Materials (Fencing Materials, Square bales of Hay) • Equipment (Mowers, Hay Making Equipment) All hay is made on the BF Farm *Setting up endowments to support BF into the future Programs *Therapeutic riding for the disabled *Disabilities Day Camps *Youth-At-Risk Programs *Post War Veterans (Horses for Heroes) *Veterans Retreats *Equine Facilitated Learning *Foster & Adopted Children Adjustment Program In 2017 Lakes donation of the 10 acres Property to the established non-profit Breaking Free Therapeutic Riding Center Inc. for the purpose of the Center to continually Grow on their own property.
