Mission Statement

We clean water for kids.

About This Cause

Today, over 1,400,000 children in eight countries across Asia and Africa have clean water thanks to Splash. Splash cleans water for kids in an urban context by implementing integrated water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programs in public schools to maximize both impact and cost-effectiveness. Splash is unique in the WASH sector because our focus is on reaching as many kids as possible for as long as possible. This is why we don't do pilot projects. We install high-quality water filtration systems, drinking and handwashing stations that are made to last, and child-friendly toilets. We do this in every single public school in each city where we work, so that every student will have clean water, clean hands, and clean toilets. Then, we make sure kids learn about topics like hygiene, puberty, and menstrual health. This knowledge helps them build healthy habits, reduces stigma, and shifts norms. Recent studies of Splash's work showed a 17% decrease in respiratory illness, a 22% increase in handwashing, and 95% of girls who participated in Splash's programs say that their period does not impact their day. Splash's proven ability to tap into established supply chains, leverage existing infrastructure, and reinforce local intelligence reduces our costs and builds enduring partnerships. This is how we are producing truly sustainable solutions. With your support, we can have a maximum impact with a minimum footprint. Together, we can prove that city-wide water, sanitation, hygiene, and menstrual health programs in schools can be achieved efficiently, sustainably, and critically, without Splash in the long run.
