About This Cause
Today, over 1,000,000 children in eight countries across Asia and Africa have clean water thanks to Splash. Splash cleans water for kids in an urban context by implementing integrated water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programs in high-density child-serving institutions (like schools and orphanages) to maximize both impact and cost-effectiveness. Splash is unique in the WASH sector because our focus is on reaching the maximum number of kids with the least resources for the longest time. This is why we don't do pilot projects. We install high-quality water filtration systems and durable drinking and handwashing stations at 100% of our target geography—so that every child at every public school in Kolkata (India) and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) will have clean water. Our local staff then establishes child-led hygiene clubs that cultivate health-promoting behavior in and outside of the school—a critical component in containing the spread of disease. Splash's proven ability to tap into established supply chains, leverage existing infrastructure, and reinforce local intelligence reduces our costs and builds enduring partnerships. This is how we are producing truly sustainable solutions.
