About This Cause
The Humane Society of Central Texas (HSCTX) is dedicated to building a compassionate, empowered community that values and supports pets and their families. Rooted in the Human-Animal Support Services (HASS) approach, we focus on practical, community-based solutions that keep pets out of shelters whenever possible and with the families who love them most. Every day, we help pet owners access essential resources - like pet supply pantries, veterinary support, and behavioral assistance - to prevent unnecessary surrenders and keep pets safe at home. When staying together isn’t an option, our foster network provides temporary care and stability for animals until they find new families. By addressing the challenges that lead to pets losing their homes, we’re building sustainable solutions that strengthen the human-animal bond and alleviates pressure on overwhelmed shelters and rescues across Central Texas. HSCTX is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
