Dear Community Members,
We are reaching out to invite you to play a vital role in our upcoming celebration for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade in Augusta, Georgia, on January 18th. This year, we are excited to highlight the significant contributions of farmers in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) and promote the importance of supporting our local agriculture.
Our Vision:
Farming is more than fields and food; it embodies the spirit of our community—people working together to create a meaningful impact. Our event aims to inspire collaboration, bridging the wisdom of the elders with the energy of the youth, creating a cycle that nurtures our agricultural legacy in the CSRA.
How You Can Get Involved:
1. Volunteer: Join us for the MLK Parade by volunteering your time and expertise. We invite you to help us distribute fresh produce and seeds, instead of candy. We will also have a packing day January 15-17, where we will bag the produce and seeds to be handed out to parade attendees.
2. Monetary Donations: If you’re unable to volunteer, we welcome financial contributions to support our eYorts. Your donations will help us provide fresh produce, seeds, and educational materials for participants. Your support is crucial to making this event a success and demonstrating our community’s commitment to food sustainability and local farming.
We would be deeply grateful for any support you can oYer. If you have any questions or wish to discuss this initiative further, please feel free to contact me visit our website at https://www.blackfarmstreet.org.
