Scobee Education Center is hosting the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11, and want to present an amazing opportunity to volunteer and join our team. Apollo 11 captivated and united nations all over the world with “The Eagle has landed” on the Moon (July 16, 1969). Our event is dedicated to re-igniting the excitement and visions of space explorations to the moon and beyond!

Please join us on this inspiring and innovative experience that is FREE for kids of all ages and community members on July 20th, 2019 at 8:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Description of what volunteers will be doing at the event:
- Work hands on table activities with the public that we will provide
- Assist with surveys at completion of activities
- Assist guests, usher, crowd control as needed

Opportunity Details

Many children in our neighborhood are struggling academically, emotionally, and spiritually. As a tutor with Stowe Mission, you will have the opportunity to create a stable environment in which these students can thrive academically and learn of the immeasurable value had by each and every one of them.

You will be paired with a neighborhood student. Each week, you will attend tutoring for an hour and a half on Monday evenings and assist that student. If the student brings homework, you will help them to work through that. If there is extra time or if they did not bring homework, you will assist them with age appropriate learning materials that we have onsite. You will also have the opportunity to assist them with weekly STEM projects, life skill lessons, and physical activities.

Your role as a tutor benefits our organization and community in big ways. Through your service, we are able to provide an educational resource to a community which currently has a startling graduation rate. We are also able to support students on a personal level and remind them of the value they have because of Jesus. We are also confident that God will use this role in your life as you continue to learn more about His heart for the poor and needy and how you can be a part of serving this people group. You will also have the opportunity to develop your flexibility in this quick-moving environment.

Opportunity Details

We are seeking 12 business volunteers for a carousel of workshops. Bringing the world of work into school with a variety of business volunteers from different disciplines and industries. Would you run a workshop for us so that all 280 students get to experience these topics, students are divided up and you will run the workshop six times:

We will provide the presentation and you can customise it to your career, your brand or your industry.

Opportunity Details

Conduct mock interviews for a day with school students. Join a group of business volunteers assisting students to experience a one to one interview. Provide 10 minutes personal feedback for each candidate. Each student can choose from one of five business roles to be interviewed for.

RMHC is having a table at the back to school fair at Galleria Mall on July 20th, 2019. We are in need of volunteers to help staff the table to provide information to attendees about RMHC and it's programs and volunteer opportunities. This will enable us to eduate the public about what we do and how they can help the families who stay with us, while their child is recieving critial medical care in a local hospital.

At the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley we need help with our Salesforce database in the following areas:
- Analyzing and document the use of our fields
- Moving to Lightning
- Documenting data entry processes
- Creating report templates

If you love Salesforce and consider yourself really good at it, you can help us. We have less than 6,000 records and our data collection and needs are not complex. Hours are flexible and you can volunteer remotely.

The GHS Orchestra Boosters are raising money to help send 40 Gilbert High School orchestra students to perform in New York City at Lincoln Center! Opportunity Details

Do you have the skills to interview someone, could you donate a couple of hours?

Join us for part of a work ready in a secondary school, we are hosting one session around interview skills. Help the students hone their interview skills with mock interviews. You would be our business ambassador and help them to understand the process of gaining employment. Mentor the students through the interview process, provide feedback and help them rehearse the first steps to gaining a job on a one to one basis.

Join in with this exciting day with students. Help guide and mentor them with this challenge to create an innovative company for the day. Be on the final judging panel to decide the winning team. Nothing to prepare or bring. We are seeking business volunteers to illustrate to them the roles they could aspire to.
