Achievement programs! By volunteering for JA, you can inspire young people to experience the realities and opportunities of the new global marketplace. JA is the nonprofit leader in providing hands-on, innovative financial literacy, work-readiness, and entrepreneurship educational needs. Volunteers are needed in all areas and grade levels (K-12) of Brevard. We are flexible= you pick the school, day of the week and grade level that you prefer to volunteer with. The time commitment is minimal= 30-45 minutes weekly, for 5-8 weeks (depending on the grade level chosen).

Today, JA reaches more than 4.8 million students per year in more than 100 markets across the United States. This year, Junior Achievement of the Space Coast (JASC) will reach more than 12,000 Brevard students with your help.

At Capital One/ Junior Achievement Finance Park each student becomes “an adult for the day” in an electronic simulation. The students are assigned a life scenario so they can experience firsthand the real-life challenges of making personal budgeting decisions. After calculating their net monthly income and savings goals, students visit kiosks that represent different budget categories such housing, health insurance, groceries, and utilities. Anyone with real world monthly budgeting experience can become a volunteer. JA Finance Park Volunteers play a key role by helping the students understand the concepts of personal financial planning and career exploration. Volunteers provide guidance and assistance while monitoring and verifying students’ work.

Opportunity Details

This is where teams can finally show off their game entries they've been working on since kickoff in November. We need a variety of volunteers for general help, judging, and speaking. Judges come from various related industries such as design, art, music, or programming to rate the teams and their games for winning awards. Speakers give sessions throughout the day to provide ample learning experiences about the industry for the students attending, General volunteers can help with guiding teams to where they need to be, running supplies, and other help as needed. This is a great opportunity to see what kids are capable of!

We are seeking pro-bono/volunteer help in the area of advertising/marketing/pr. We want to be as effective as possible getting our message out, and also in letting our supporters and target audience know about important information and events.

Opportunity Details

This is one of three major fundraising events the Brandon Valley Bands program puts together. We serve a wonderful turkey supper, and provide music continuously throughout. Each of our bands plays for 20 minutes. This event is anticipated by our community each spring.

Opportunity Details

The Willits Sober Grad Party Committee members have been working with Willits residents, upcoming Class of 2019 graduates and neighboring community members from September of 2018 through the present to prepare for the 33rd Annual Willits Sober Grad Night Party. We need help at 111 E. Commercial Street, Willits, CA, during the day of the party Thursday, June 6, 2019 beginning at 9:30 a.m. until approximately 1:30 p.m., including: decorating, filling balloons, moving tables, attaching paper decorations and all-around "helping" as directed by the Sober Grad Party committee members. Volunteers from the Kohl's Department Store in Ukiah, California have helped tremendously in the past by volunteering their help the day of the party. The purpose of the Sober Grad Night Party is to provide a safe and happy graduation celebration with no alcohol or illegal drugs for the 2019 high school graduating class of the Willits Unified School System. With our almost yearly planning, we are actively involving the community in the process of educating youth and the community itself about drug and alcohol abuse.

Opportunity Details

The Moore Band Booster Pancake Breakfast is the largest fundraising opportunity fir the Boosters. Funds raised from this event sustain the 300 Music students at Moore Middle School each year, enabling that instruments can be purchased and repaired, and transportation to performances can be obtained. The funds raised unsure that the music program remains viable and active.
